Student Life at Binar Academy
A long time before I found Binar, I’ve been a big fan of Alamanda Shantika (Founder Binar Academy). I frequently watch and stalk her on YouTube and Instagram. I just spontaneously admired her since I knew that she is a sociable and big-hearted woman. She made something impactful through the technology. GO-Jek is one of her best achievements. And now, let say that we can’t live without GO-Jek. This statement shows how GO-JEK is so helpful and brilliant(we won’t talk about GO-JEK here). So, this story directed me to stalk more about Binar Academy. I was inspired by Alamanda, so I thought if I join Binar, I wish I could learn more about technology from Mba Ala, or even more, be a friend hehe.
I never dreamt that I’m the happiest student who exciting go and back for school. Binar gave me everything I need. Free charges, new friends, knowledge, experiences, I got brilliant things and ideas for my final thesis, and for the first time, I met Mba Ala (Finally!).
So, how was student life in Binar? Unforgettable! For the first time, I did Scrum Methodology for software development. I finally knew what does scrum like ( I had analyzed Scrum for the college project, but not really satisfying for the result because I never felt Scrum environment). As a beginner in UI/ UX, I got a lot of things that I never learn in college before. I got the other perspective for some issues, especially in the IT field. The mentors never blame me for what I’ve done, they let me criticize my own self and let me analyze how the product is supposed to be according to what we learn in the class. In the end, I enjoy the process and find the value of what I learned. Yes, the value! that’s the point. No one in the world could make something perfect unless getting the value for every process and failures we face.
About the teamwork? Anyway, for the first time, I have a complete IT development team. There are Android team, Product Manager, QA team, Backend team, Frontend team and UI/UX. We built an application based on a problem we would solve through it. For me, as a fresh graduated, this moment such a milestone. This would help me to improve my soft skills. And the moral value of this collaboration is controlling the selfishness, keep up the loyalty and commitment. Attitude is (still) number one. Binar taught me to collaboration instead of competition. With collaboration, we switch ideas, knowledge, and experiences. We’re rich in ideas and perspectives at the end of this impactful journey. We support each other and we united in the diversity.
Binar gives me a life lesson. Makes a better me, a new me. Thank You Binar for such a meaningful experience.
We are brothers, we are sisters, we are Binar family.
